WOMEN SAFETY AND SECURITY CELL

Women power illuminates the entire community. This is the concept that inspired the college to start a forum named "Woman Safety and Security Cell". Girl students are given awareness on various issues faced by women and rights available to address the issues.

REPORT ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY CELEBRATION

Brief Description:
The International Women's day was celebrated to appreciate and wish those women who had the biggest and quietest influence in our lives. The two successful and diverse women adorned the stage of the function. Their advice towards the girl students was to qualify themselves to meet the challenges of the society. In whichever field they are assigned to work, stressed to show total involvement and dedication to empower themselves. Then their advise was to be determined in taking care of their health and to follow three important aspects which are as follows: 1. Regular Exercise, 2. Eating Nutritious Food and 3. Adequate sleep during nights - to keep them fit and fine. The students also shared their valuable opinions through their talk and by writing on the charts.
The main highlight of the celebration of International Women's Day was to be bold enough to accept the change towards the society.
Follow - up :
The views on the theme "BEBOLDFORCHANGE" written by the girl students on the charts are planned to be submitted for UN Women.

DONATION OF COMPUTERS AND INSTALLATION OF SANITARY NAPKIN VENDING MACHINE

Club: T.S.Narayanaswami College of Arts and Science in association with Rotary Club of Madras Silver Beach.
Title: Donation of Computers and Installation of Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine
Date and Venue: 31 January 2017 / SMART ROOM
Objective: To initiate an awareness on health and hygeine and to donate Computers to Government schools, near college outreach.

- Mr.Balasubramanian, Vice President, Corporate and Communication (ICL)
Brief Description:
Rotary Club of Madras Silver Beach donated computers through T.S.Narayanaswami College of Arts and Science to Government schools, near college outreach on 31 January 2017. They also installed sanitary napkin vending machine in the college for the benefit of girl students. Mr.Sushil Sharoff, President of Rotary Club of Madras Silver Beach and Mr.Ehirajulu, Secretary of Rotary Club of Madras Silver Beach gave special remarks on the occasion. Mr.Balasubramanian, Vice President, Corporate and Communication (ICL), rendered a speech on education and health. Wellness club and Women cell of the college took part in the programme.
Feedback:
Representatives from the schools thanked Rotary Club of Madras Silver Beach and the college Management and shared a few words on receiving the computers.

Dr.S.Venkatraman, Vice President, Education and Training(ICL), Dr.R.Gayathri, Principal of the college and Rotary Club members of Madras Silver Beach visited Sholinganallur Government Higher Secondary School for initiating an awareness programme on health and hygiene.

  • Inauguration in the month of August by Dr.Madanarekha, Director, Center for Women's Studies of JABAS College. She gave a lecture on various woman centric acts and rights and created awareness among the students.
  • A seminar was conducted on Entrepreneurship. Mrs.Vanmathi, Editor of Pavaiyar Malar addressed the students on her success story as woman entrepreneur.
  • On 23 September 2016, a lecture on "Cyber Crime" was organized. Mr.Ravichandran, General Manager of Matrimony.com addressed the students on Cybercrime and its effect.
  • Students of III B.Com ISM released a short film on "Impact of Social Media", which visualised the boon and bane of social media.
