Report on Blood Donation Camp conducted by YRC

Title: Blood Donation Camp
Date & Venue: 13/02/2018 & Elango Arangam
Objective of the Programme: To create awareness in Students the importance of donating blood.
Chief Guest: Mr. V. Balasubramanian, Correspondent (ICL)
Brief Description:
On account of Founder’s Day the Youth Red Cross (YRC) in association with Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Tamilnadu Branch Egmore Chennai, conducted blood donation camp on 13/02/2018 (Tuesday) from 10.15a.m to 2.30p.m at Elango Arangam.
Mr. V. Balasubramanian, Correspondent (ICL), Dr. R. Gayathri, Principal inaugurated the camp. Total 36 students donated blood. Dr.N.Sridharan Assist.Prof of Commerce, Mr. Sriram and Mr. R. Suresh, Car Drivers also donated blood. The blood donors were provided with refreshments and lunch. In order to encourage the students in donating blood that saves people who are in emergency, one day attendance and certificate is given.
10 student volunteers of Youth Red Cross (YRC) from the various discipline, assisted during the blood camp.
The entire program was co-ordinated by Mr.S.Vijay Sankar, YRC Co-ordinator and Assist.Prof. Economics.

Republic Day Celebration

Objective of the Programme:
To celebrate the official adoption of our Indian constitution, to honour the people who made an independent India possible and to show patriotism towards our country.
Brief Description:
The celebration started with a Welcome Address by Dr.S. Srividya, Convener. The Principal hoisted the National Flag. In her speech, she highlighted the importance of Constitution, Laws and Republic day parade in New Delhi. She also motivated the students to be more self confident and to bring laurels for the college through their accomplishments. The speech was followed by dance, patriotic song and oration on constitution by the students, giving a glimpse of the diversity in unity of the nation. The program ended with the Vote of Thanks by Dr.N. Mathan, Rotaract Convener.

Independence Day Celebrations 15/08/2017

Objective of the Programme:
Independence Day is a national festival and has equal importance to every Indian, regardless of religion, caste or creed. The main objective of this celebration is to dedicate the day to all those brave leaders and freedom fighters.

Brief Description:
The Principal hoisted the National Flag in the College Campus. The students and teachers saluted the flag and rendered the National Anthem. A skit was performed by II and III Biochemistry students. Megala and Keerthivasan of III B.Sc Biochemistry had an interactive conversation on the topic “India – Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”. Veeralakshmi of II B.Sc Biochemistry sang a Patriotic Song and III B.Sc Biochemistry students presented a group dance. Speech on Patriotism was given by B.Mahalakshmi, Irfana Parveen of Department of Commerce and Sharmila of Department of Computer Science.
Principal gave a positive feedback and encouraged the students to follow the ideals of the great people. She also advised the students to be an ideal citizen to the society and to the country.

Republic Day Celebration 26/01/2017

N.S.S, Rotaract and YRC student members celebrated Republic Day on 26, January 2017 in the college premises.
To inculcate Patriotism among the students, college celebrates Republic Day.
Mr. Vijayakumar, Inspector, Thazhambur Police station was the Chief Guest, who hoisted the National Flag. He also delivered a speech on the occasion. He rendered three messages to the students.

  • Students should understand their roles and responsibilities and act accordingly.
  • Secondly, students should feel proud to be an Indian and should exercise their voting rights wisely.
  • Lastly, they should maintain discipline at all places and time.

Global handwashing day is a campaign to motivate and mobilize people around the world to improve their hand washing habits. This falls on 15th of October each year.
Our college NSS Programme officer Mrs.S.Srividya, members and student volunteers conducted this awareness programme by giving demonstration to all the students of our college.
Posters regarding awareness on Handwashing were pasted throughout the college.

T.S.Narayanaswami College of Arts and Science celebrated Independence Day on 15 August 2016. Welcome Address was given by NSS Program Officer, Ms.S.Srividya, Department of Biochemistry.The National Flag was hoisted by the Principal, Dr.R.Gayathri. The Principal addressed the gathering and spoke on “Patriotism”. Students participated with great enthusiasm and performed various cultural activities on the occasion. Dr. J.Sadeesh Asst. Prof.,Department of BBA gave a speech on “Importance of Non-Violence”. Dr.Mathan, Rotaract and Red Cross coordinator delivered the vote of thanks.
