Mrs.G. Annie Rajani Priya has been working as HOD & Associate Professor in English. She Completed her UG (B.Sc.,) with first class in 1991 at Nagarjuna University, Guntur and her PG (M.A., Language and Literature) with first class and University fifth rank out of 614 students in 1994 at Andhra University, Vizag. She completed her M.Phil with first class in 2005 at Andhra University, Vizag. Besides she did her B.Ed from IGNOU and PGDCE from University of Hyderabad in first class. She cleared her SET exam. Participted in National and International Conference and got her papers published in International journals and in IEEE format.
At present, she is pursuing her Ph.D. in English from Dravidian University. Previously worked as Lecturer for UG students in Rajiv Institute of Technology and Management studies from June 1996 to Sept 2001.She also worked as Head of the department of English for P.G. Students in Pedanandipadu College of Arts and Science from June 2002 to Nov 2006. She has been working in our institution from 2007 to till date.
The Department of English acquaints the students with basic communication concepts and enables them to learn and understand the language in a true perspective. The Department conducts classes on spoken English, Soft skills, Newspaper reading, Creative writing, Seminar presentation and Group Discussions. The Department has developed “UTOPIA” - A theatre show, involving drama, poetry recitation, Creative writings and Audio and Video shows. The Department helps the students to overcome stage fear by training them in public speaking.

Objective of the Programme:
To bring awareness on Importance of Literacy.
The programme started at 11 am with Invocation by choir girls and Welcome address by Mrs.G. Annie, HOD of Department of English and Convener of Literary Club. Students of II Bio and II B. Com enacted a skit in Tamil on “Real meanings of Tamil proverbs and clarification of terms in Commerce and Banking”. Followed by, Keerthi Vasan and Santhosh of III Bio made a Story Telling performance on “Monday Morning”. An English skit, abridged version of “My Fair Lady” was enacted by Kumar Isravel of II B. Sc Computer Science, Josephin and Meghala of II Bio and Rakki of II B. Com(A). Mr. Rajesh Kannan, Assistant Professor and HOD of ISM conducted a Quiz Programme based on the events. Muthukumar of III BBA performed a solo dance. Prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners (off-stage competitions on Poster Presentation in English on Literacy and Oratorical competition in Tamil on Today’s Education System) and participants. The Principal and Vice-Principal gave special remarks on the occasion. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Mrs.V. Gayathri, Assistant Professor, Department of English and National Anthem.
